Development of information literacy of teachers

Abstract

This article provides a theoretical analysis of the concepts of «media literacy,» «information literacy,» «media culture,» and «media education.» It addresses the current issues of improving information and media literacy among educators. In the context of the rapid development of information technologies and media in the education system, the need for enhancing the professional competencies of educators is evident. The author emphasizes the importance of critical analysis of information sources and the development of media literacy as a key component of a teacher’s professional activity. The article explores ways of effectively using media and information in the educational process, as well as methods for fostering media literacy within the framework of professional development. The article concludes with an educational program aimed at developing the information and media literacy of educators.
