<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The article deals with the actual problem of eating disorders leading to overweight and obesity. Overweight and obesity are one of the most pressing medical and social problems of our time. Studies show that obesity and eating disorders have a significant impact on the quality of life. The paper presents both the parameters of healthy eating behavior and the main types of eating disorders: restrictive, emotionogenic and external. The type of eating behavior of overweight people is influenced not only by exogenous factors, but also by gender and age characteristics. Most researchers agree that women are more susceptible to eating disorders and, therefore, have a higher risk of being overweight and obese.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>пищевое поведение</kwd><kwd>нарушение пищевого поведения</kwd><kwd>индекс массы тела</kwd><kwd>избыточный вес</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>eating behavior</kwd><kwd>eating disorder</kwd><kwd>body mass index</kwd><kwd>overweight</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Ndambo M.K., Nyondo-Mipando A.L., Thakwalakwa C.
